Restorative Approaches in Schools Questionnaire in the UK

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and even more thanks if you are able to help. The information gathered will be used to help with:
  • Compiling a national database of who is doing what, where, to help people network
  • Make recommendations to those new to restorative practices on what has worked elsewhere in terms of implementation and sustainability of a whole school approach.

I would be very grateful if you could fill in as much of this questionnaire as you have time for. Please feel free to make your own comments at the end of the questionnaire if certain questions do not seem relevant .

Which members of the school community need to have these skills?

D ) The Journey
To help others about to embark on a restorative project in their school it would be very helpful if you could describe your journey so far, introducing, implementing and sustaining restorative practices into your school. This could be in a series of steps. Eg Step One – a short presentation to all staff in a staff meeting, Step Two – a half day INSET.  Etc etc

Step1: Step6:
Step2: Step7:
Step3: Step8:
Step4: Step9:
Step5: Step10:

E) Snakes and ladders
If you were to consider your progress introducing restorative approaches in terms of a snakes and ladders board, with the factors that have helped you move forward in your school as the ‘ladders’ and the set-backs or barriers to progress being the ‘snakes’?

Do you have any other comments you would like to make, or suggestions for improving on this questionnaire to make it more useful either to yourself or to others just beginning on this journey?

Thank you very much for completing this questionnaire. I appreciate it will have taken some time and thought.
